Picking a location for your engagement photos can be super tough, especially here in Colorado. There’s SO many options, it can be difficult to decide which one to choose. Here are my 3 tips for choosing the perfect engagement session location.
Urban or Natural?
The easiest way to start narrowing down your options is to first decide if you’d prefer a background that’s urban or natural for your photos. Which speaks more to you as a couple? Are you a city couple that loves the nightlife? Let’s pick a spot in Denver for your session! Do you love camping and hiking together? We’re off to the mountains! If you fall somewhere in between Denver and the mountains, that’s totally fine, but choosing either a urban or natural background will make it easier for us to find you the perfect location!

Special Spots
My next tip is to think of places that may have special meaning to you. It could be the spot you got engaged, or your favorite coffee shop. Maybe it’s your favorite place to head for date night, or a fun activity you like to do together, like ice skating, fishing, or whatever!! Those special touches are what bring more pieces of your relationship into your photo session and make the photos all the more meaningful!

Ask Around!
I always like to tell my couples to remember to ask their friends and family for help with locations, too. Maybe you two really love travelling together, so you want to do your session at an airplane hanger! Do you know someone with access to one? Or maybe you know someone who knows someone?! It never hurts to ask and you might end up with a one-of-a-kind location if you do!
