Oh New Orleans! A city after my own heart, I think. It’s hot, humid, green (even in March!) and full of people that I love! When I found out Amanda & Aaron were moving their little family to Louisiana, I was sad at first because that meant they were even farther away from me, but then happy, because I got to go visit them in a place I’ve never seen before! And I’m a fan of New Orleans! We had a jam packed weekend getting in all the pictures we could of their sweet little boys Takoda and Brecken just in time for Brecken’s first birthday. And, since I’m mainly a wedding/engagement photographer, Aaron & Amanda humored me and let me take a ton of the two of them for my portfolio!
Our first stop was Oak Alley Plantation. We spent some time wandering the grounds and taking in those massive 300 year old oak trees. They were so incredible! Amanda showed me a photo of the plantation before I got to New Orleans and I knew we HAD to go there! Totally worth it! I really don’t know why, but I LOVE huge trees!!
After that we headed over to the French Quarter to do some sightseeing and get some photos in this adorable little alleyway Amanda & Aaron had found. Oh man was it cute! I could’ve shot there all day! I just love the architecture style in New Orleans, with all those balconies on every building! The kiddos were about done with pictures after that, so got a few more of Amanda & Aaron in the French Quarter and then did a little sightseeing.
This trip made me so happy! Seeing old friends and their growing family, and getting to practice my craft in a new and exciting location. I cannot express enough how much I LOVE being able to do that. If I could travel to new place to take photos every day, I totally would. Anybody planning a destination wedding soon?
