When I started this business, from day one I knew I wanted to be a Destination Wedding Photographer. It calls to me, traveling the world and photographing gorgeous weddings at the same time. Every time I travel somewhere I always find myself wishing I had a bride and groom with me to photograph in these new, beautiful settings. My very first wedding I ever photographed was a destination wedding, which I forget sometimes. I know that sounds weird, but I had literally NO idea what I was doing, so it almost seems wrong to count it! But since then I’ve had the opportunity to photography many destination weddings, and I’ve loved each one.
Since being a destination wedding photographer is something that I feel so strongly about, I’ve decided to re-think my pricing structure to make hiring me as your destination wedding photographer easier and hassle free. It’s always been my goal to make working with me as stress free as possible for my couples. I want your experience with me to be easy, fun, and something you look back on with a smile. I firmly believe that wedding planning can be fun, and I make it my goal to do just that for you. So, with that being said I’ve decided to charge no travel fees for destination weddings.
You read that right.
No travel fees for destination weddings.
If you’re asking yourself why I would do something like that, the answer is simple. I don’t want you to have to stress over the costs of my flights, hotel room, and whatever else there might be, all while stressing about your own travel costs. I had a destination wedding myself, so I know what that feels like! I don’t want you to have to worry about anything with me! So all you do is pick your photography collection and you’re done. Put a big check mark next to “Find a photographer” on your to do list.
So whether you’re getting married in Mexico, Hawaii, Paris, or Bali you can rest easy knowing your destination wedding photography is taken care of. My bags are packed and my passport is ready, let’s go!
Destination Wedding FAQ’s
What do you consider a Destination wedding?
Every photographer has a different definition of a destination wedding, but for me it’s any wedding outside my home state of Colorado.
Do you have a 2nd photographer for Destination weddings?
We definitely can! That’s all up to you! I have wedding collections with one or two photographers, and as always, my wedding collections can be customized in any way to fit your needs.
When will you fly out to my destination wedding?
I prefer to depart for the destination a day in advance for domestic locations and 2 days for international. This gives me time to scout your wedding venue as well as give us a buffer in case flights are delayed or cancelled.
Do I need to book the flights?
Nope! Leave all of that up to me!
Do you book your own hotel?
Yes, I handle all of this so you don’t have to! If you’re working with a travel agent or have a group rate set up I am more than happy to work with them. For international destinations I try to stay at the same resort as you to make coordinating easier.
The resort said we could use their photographer, wouldn’t that be easier?
Not necessarily. Typically hiring photographers from your wedding location is not only more expensive but also riskier. Correspondence can be difficult and time consuming (especially if there is a language barrier) and I’ve heard many horror stories of brides whose images were not what they expected or they never received their images.
